In Decline is an abstract monoprint made from vintage letterpress type, capturing the feeling of a structure slowly breaking down—quietly, steadily, and irreversibly.

A dense mass of deep green impressions rises from the lower portion of the page like a compressed archive or built environment. The type forms are stacked tightly into horizontal bands and uneven blocks, suggesting layers of time—accumulated, recorded, and held in place through repetition. But toward the top left, the form begins to unravel. Individual pieces scatter outward, thinning and lifting away like debris, erosion, or the gradual collapse of order.

The title In Decline transforms the composition into a metaphor for deterioration—of systems, memory, institutions, even inner resolve. What was once language becomes a deteriorating structure: meaning fragmented into texture, certainty dissolving into absence. The negative space feels like loss—growing, expanding, overtaking what remains.

Minimal yet emotionally weighted, the work reads as both document and landscape: a printed record of something that used to hold together, now slipping apart.
