Persecution Complex is an abstract monoprint made from vintage letterpress type that feels like a document under pressure—dense, coded, and quietly unsettling.
A block of deep green marks fills the center of the paper like an overcrowded record: narrow vertical forms stack tightly together, creating the impression of a compressed city grid or a wall of data. The surface is built from countless individual pieces of type—each one once meant to speak clearly—now reassembled into an unreadable language of texture. Thin seams of white break through the ink like fractures, erasures, or gaps in a narrative, suggesting interruption and distortion.
The title Persecution Complex shifts the work into psychological territory. The print begins to read like evidence: a file, a report, a list—something obsessively collected and compulsively organized. But instead of clarity, the image offers only noise, density, and tension—echoing the feeling of searching for meaning, threat, or intent in patterns that may or may not be real.
At once minimal and forceful, the piece transforms language into atmosphere: ink as anxiety, order as paranoia, and type as history.
